Miner Football Coaching Staff

Tyler Fenwick
Head Coach

Coach Fenwick begins his first season leading the Miners in the fall of 2013. He has been part of a Missouri Western program that has played in the post-season in each of the six seasons that he was on the staff, including an appearance in the NCAA Division II quarterfinals
in 2012.

Prior to that, he spent five years on the staff at Occidental College in California – the last four as offensive coordinator –and one season as offensive coordinator at Minnesota State University Moorhead, where the Dragons posted their first winningseason in seven years.

He began his coaching career at the high school level at Birmingham High School in Lake Balboa, Calif., as the program's offensive coordinator, helping guide the team to a conference championship and playoff appearance as it finishedwith a 10-2 record.


Brett Sykes
Assistant Football Coach

Coach Sykes, a former defensive lineman at Ohio University, will begin his fourth season on
the Miner sideline in the fall of 2013, where he will work with the Miners' defensive line. He spent seven seasons in the Ohio program, five as a player from 2003-07 and two as defensive quality control working with the defensive line and assistantstrength and conditioning during the 2009 campaign.


Mike Burton
Assistant Football Coach

Coach Burton, a former quarterback at Missouri Western, will serve as the Miners' running backs coach. He spent the last six seasons at MSSU working with the running backs during that period of time for an offensive unit that was headed by Coach Fenwick. He worked with Harlon Hill Award finalist Michael Hill over the last two seasons. As a player for the Griffons from 2003-06, Burton threw 3,151 yards passing and 10 touchdowns.


Kyle Shomaker
Assistant Football Coach

Coach Shoemaker coached previously at Azuza Pacific Univ. in California, where he coached the team's hybrid linebackers, handled all of the team's video productions and served as recruiting coordinator during the 2012 season. Prior to that, he spent three years as a student assistant at Cal Polytechnic State University, working on both sides of the ball and handing the video coordination. He will work with the Miner secondary in the upcoming year.


Andrew Ravadge
Assistant Football Coach

Coach Ravadge, who spent two seasons as a player on the Miner roster, is in his fourth season on the staff as the offensive line coach. Ravadge was a center for the Miners during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, starting in 18 games in a Miner uniform during that span. He came to Missouri S&T after spending two years at DeAnza College (Cal.) and one at Cal Poly.


Other camp staff members will be comprised of some of the best coaches & players in various sports in the area as well as members of the... MISSOURI S&T FOOTBALL TEAM.
